The following is a list of scholarships sponsored by AgriLabs:

AgriLabs Dr. Bruce Wren Continuing Education Awards

Established in 2010, and in cooperation with the American Association of Bovine Practitioners, AgriLabs presents two $5,000 awards in honor of Bruce Wren, DVM, PhD, a long-term AgriLabs technical services veterinarian, in recognition of his lifelong commitment to practical and formal continuing education for veterinarians. These $5,000 awards will be vital in helping veterinarians gain more experience in individual-animal and herd-production medicine, helping them bring value to their producer-clients for years to come.

One beef and one dairy award of $5,000 are presented each year at the Annual Meeting of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners. These awards are to fund the professional-development presented in the application. Professional-development opportunities can include, but are not limited to, seminars, technical or business short courses, advanced training and mentoring/ride-along time with an exemplary veterinary practitioner. The application should focus on a professional-development opportunity in one of these two categories; individual-medicine or production-medicine.

  1. Individual-Medicine: The purpose is to enable the applicant to further his/her knowledge and skills regarding basic animal medicine. This includes, but is not limited to, diagnosis, treatment, surgery, case management, pain management and patient welfare.
  2. Production-Medicine: The purpose is to enable the applicant to further his/her knowledge and skills with developing and implementing herd protocols to enhance health and profitability. This includes, but is not limited to, records analysis, disease prevention, production enhancement, benchmarking, biosecurity and food safety.

Those eligible to apply are practicing beef and dairy practitioners who have received their doctorate in veterinary medicine at least one year and no more than ten years from the date of the award.
