Celebrating 25 Years of the Best Products and Service

2009 marks the Silver Anniversary of AgriLabs, the animal health brand that has become an enduring symbol of product quality, branding integrity and marketing and sales excellence.

As President and CEO of AgriLabs, I feel passionately about using this milestone to reaffirm our ongoing commitment to you, the dairy producers we serve. This is a great opportunity both to celebrate our history and look toward the future.

In the 25 years since its founding, AgriLabs has grown from a tiny start-up to a brand name that is recognized and respected. Known as much for our innovative technologies as we are for well-priced generics, the people at AgriLabs have stood side-by-side with veterinarians, ranchers, farmers, producers, distributors and dealers – our customers – through good times and bad, bringing the industry quality products at competitive prices. This is our mission. To continue to achieve our mutual goals, it is important to remember that we are accountable first and foremost to you, our friends and valued customers.

AgriLabs takes great pride and satisfaction, and its employees much strength, from the knowledge that the innovative products we bring to you are important to the health and well-being of your animals. In meeting the challenges ahead comes the reward of producing the highest quality milk and meat products to help feed our nation and the world. We all know that’s not possible without highquality nutrition and health inputs, and for those, you can continue to rely on AgriLabs.

Since the beginning of the year, we have unveiled three new products and signed two partnerships representing an impressive global expansion program. There’s an exciting energy at AgriLabs that we want to share.

AgriLabs will continue to bring you Bovine Health Watch, featuring the health and management information you have come to expect. Here are just some of the topics included in this issue to help improve the productivity of your herd and to save you money:

  • A simple tool – body condition scoring – can help you spot health problems early. Dr. Jodie Pennington walks us through when and how to score as well as how to evaluate the results.
  • We all know that water is one of our most important resources for healthy cattle. We spoke with Dr. Alejandro Castillo from the University of California, Davis. Dr. Castillo discusses water quality and some things you might do to assure your cattle remain healthy and productive.
  • Johne’s disease is still a costly health problem, and a surprising number of dairies are infected. Dr. Mike Collins from the University of Wisconsin offers recommendations to reduce, and possibly eradicate the problem.
  • Noted pinkeye expert, Dr. John Angelos, UC Davis, offers tips on fly control, and on the prevention and treatment of pinkeye.
